Demographic information includes: sex, language, and approximate age. We make best efforts to have a volunteer contact voters in their own language.

Political support and affiliation includes: whether you are a member of the Ontario Liberal Party, whether you have been a member in the past, and your level of involvement in politics.

We use this information to engage with existing members, and encourage others to become members.

How do we collect your information

Direct interactions with you, including conversations at the door and on the phone, direct interactions on social media, email/mail, and forms filled out on our website, or through text messages.

When it is reasonably understood that the information is public, including when you provide your political views and support in a public forum or setting. This includes signs you put on your lawn, and social media posts in community groups.

Safeguarding your Personal Information

Most information is stored in our database and in Google Sheets. Access to this data is compartmentalized and restricted to those who have a need to access it, through access controls.

Supporters are trained to collect personal information through interactions with you, and are trained to ensure safeguards remain in place. Volunteers who perform data processing work receive additional privacy training.

We also maintain an email list through a Mailchimp account, secured by two-factor authentication, and donor information is secured through PCI compliant Stripe processing.  To ensure a high level of security, only a small number of individuals have access to this information.

Oversight & Auditing

We welcome auditing from privacy experts should there be interest from academic experts in the field.
